The Role

Wind Prospect currently has a team of four UK-based electrical engineers supporting principally its construction and operations business, and also offering input to the development of proposed projects for its development businesses. The main electrical engineering personnel are based in the Durham office, though one engineer is based near Penrith, Cumbria. In addition, Wind Prospect Ireland has its own, larger team of electrical engineers based in Dublin, who assist the UK-based team from time to time.

 

The purpose of this additional role is to increase the resource and capabilities of the expertise currently provided by the UK team. It is important that you have the ability to be self-motivated and to work with a degree of autonomy. A flexible, team-focussed attitude is another essential attribute.

 

The role is mainly concerned with supporting UK projects though this may involve occasional overseas trips (eg for FATs, visits to wind turbine manufacturers facilities, etc). As Wind Prospect develops its European businesses, there may be occasional visits to support these activities.

The Candidate

The main attributes for this role include:
• A degree in electrical engineering, preferably from a course recognised by the IET
• A willingness to contribute to the various teams you’ll be associated with
• Keen and enthusiastic having an enjoyment of engineering and the creative use of your increasing experience
• Have a “can-do” attitude

 

Your primary role will be to work with experienced engineers in providing electrical engineering support for the preconstruction, construction, and operation phases of renewable generation sites owned and/or managed by companies within the Wind Prospect Group.
As your experience and competency grows, you’ll be encouraged to take greater responsibility and operate with greater autonomy. Your training will mainly consist of on the job training, supplemented as appropriate with external training courses.

The Salary

Salary is very competitive and will be negotiable depending on experience. The package will include pension and healthcare with other benefits being available.
