Biography:

Martin has been involved in renewable energy for over 30 years, having initially studied wind energy as part of his thesis at university. He then went on to work for the water industry, specialising in anaerobic digestion and bio-gas generation, followed by waste to energy technology.

In 1995 Martin co-founded The Renewable Energy Company, the first supplier dedicated to renewable electricity. A number of years as Operations Director of Cinergy Renewables followed, after which Martin established his own consultancy company Optimum Energy Ltd. which specialises in renewable energy contracts, trading and renewable market economics.

OEL is a partner in Wind Direct and co-owner of the 2MW Longhill Road Wind Turbine in March, Cambridgeshire.

Biography:

Richard initially joined the Wind Prospect group in 2000 having previously worked with Geco-Prakla (part of the Schlumberger Group) as a geophysical data processor, both onshore and offshore on a number of the company's marine vessels. On deciding to become more environmentally focussed, Richard embarked on the Renewable Energy Systems MSc course at Loughborough University in 1998, graduating the following year. He was appointed to the board of Wind Direct in 2009.

Biography:

Frankie initially joined the Wind Prospect group in 2004 and has since focussed primarily on building the Wind Direct side of the business. In the earlier years, Frankie worked across the group in several different areas, gaining a valuable insight into Wind Direct and helping to form the company’s distinct business model. Frankie previously worked for Eon in their trading and renewable energy divisions.

Biography:

Nicola joined the Wind Prospect Group in 2004 having previously worked for Lancaster University as a geographical Information systems (GIS) processor on Lake District upland areas, mapping the effects of soil erosion on Lake District water bodies. In the early days Nicola achieved several planning consents for industrial wind projects and now focuses on the efficient running of the Wind Direct Development Team.

 

Biography:

Chris Porter joined the renewables industry in 2002 after 16 years in capital equipment manufacturing, developing business in the UK and internationally.

In 2005, Chris became a Director of Wind Direct and takes a leading role in bridging the gap between industry and on site wind generation opportunities.
