History

Wind Direct's mission is to offer low cost energy supply services to intensive energy use customers through on-site wind energy generation. The core business philosophy of the company is to carry all associated risk to allow its customers to take advantage of renewable energy with minimum cost and effort.

Established in 2004, Wind Direct is a partnership between leading wind farm developer Wind Prospect, electrical grid integration specialist Econnect, and energy marketer Optimum Energy. With extensive experience of the renewables sector, these three companies provide the driving force behind Wind Direct providing its customers with confidence and assurance of quality.

More recently, Wind Direct has joined with leading equity specialist HgCapital to provide a solid financial backing to its undertakings, with investment of £19 million from Hg over the next three years.
