Newport opts for first industrial wind turbines

Wind Direct Turbines Turning in Workington

24/10/2006 Tuesday saw the achievement of full operational status for the Wind Direct project at Eastman Chemicals near Workington, Cumbria.
The two REpower MM82 wind turbines have passed their commissioning tests and are now supplying renewable electricity to the Eastman Chemicals facility. The turbines have been funded from HgCapital\'s renewable energy fund.

First Project for Wind Direct

09/05/2005 Wind Direct, the renewable energy company specialising in supplying electricity direct to major energy users, today formally commissioned its first project, a 2 MW turbine at March in Cambridgeshire.
