From Cheese to Grand Prix; organisations are choosing Wind

It’s a proven fact - businesses that survive are those that react. Little wonder then that the last 2 years have seen massive growth in Wind Direct’s client base, as companies begin to realise that green is here to stay - and with no capital outlay or financial risk, there is nothing to lose by using Wind Direct.

Global brands are amongst those reacting to the change. Mercedes-Benz HPE for example, chose Wind Direct and will soon see the installation of a wind monitoring mast, following a successful planning application by the Wind Direct team.

Wind Direct’s construction team is now handling work at the Solutia chemical plant in Wales, the first on-site generation turbine in Wales. Further North, Border Precision, an engineering business on the Scottish Borders are installing a turbine.

A feasibility study is the first step and these are underway with a raft of businesses, each seeking competitive edge and green credentials. James Halls (SPAR) are building a new distribution centre near Preston, Lancashire, incorporating a wind turbine. Rodbaston College, a progressive and diversified agricultural college want to make financial savings with their project and have appreciated the valuable educational benefits which can be realised from their scheme.

Wind Direct will shortly be applying for planning permission on behalf of traditional cheese maker Dewlay. The Lancashire-based business has over 50 years’ experience in cheese making and could soon be adding ‘green’ cheese alongside the traditional Garstang Blue!

If the last 2 years have proven anything, it’s that all businesses - whether modern, traditional, local or global – can afford to go green. Indeed for many it may prove to be the competitive advantage that sets them apart.
