Mars Petcare, Birstall, Yorkshire, manufacture Pedigree® and Whiskas® dog and cat treats, and Aquarian® fish foods.

The company employs 250 people on a 5-day week, 24-hour production pattern.

About the Project

In August 2012 Mars Petcare made the decision not to proceed with the project. A planning application for a 2MW turbine was submitted in December 2009 and was approved by the Planning Inspectorate in September 2010.
