About Snowmountain Enterprises Ltd.
In 2002 Snowmountain Enterprises Ltd looked to develop a single wind turbine project to power a small industrial estate in March, Cambridgeshire. The prime power user was to be a foundry on the estate.
About the Project
Wind Direct was chosen as their specialist wind development project lifetime partner. Planning consent was achieved in April 2003.
The turbine was successfully constructed during the summer of 2005 and handed over to the Wind Direct O&M team.
Due to first class operations management, turbine availability has been in excess of 99% with capacity factors averaging 30% in a comparatively low wind speed regime.
Since energisation, the factory has ceased trading and the wind turbine switched to 100% export.
Planning consent for a second turbine at the site was granted in 2010.
